Jenna Meyers
director
Originally from Colorado, The Rev. Jenna Meyers moved to the Bay Area in 2011 to pursue a Master of Divinity at San Francisco Theological Seminary. A sense of justice and theological curiosity was awakened in her from an early age.
Jenna studied religion and philosophy at Cornell College in Iowa. While there, she became involved in interfaith dialogue and dipped her toes into direct service advocating for refugee families. It was at this time that she first began to see the behind-the-scenes work of social justice advocacy.
After graduating from Cornell, she began professional training as a hospital chaplain and also served as a Director of Children’s Ministry. In 2012, she began her training as a certified Domestic Violence Counselor and Advocate and continued in that work until 2020. She has served in ministry with Seventh Avenue Presbyterian Church since 2013, where she is currently a pastor.
For Jenna, social justice and the spiritual life flow into one another and ISCA embodies that truth.
After participating in writing grant proposals and experiencing some of the challenges of direct service, sitting on ISCA’s Board feels like a privilege. She is humbled to be able to learn about and support the good (and sometimes quiet) work for justice and well-being taking place throughout our community.
