ISCA Covid-19 “Holding Senior Community” Grants

Who: Inner Sunset Community Advocates, Inc. (ISCA) is a community-based 501(c)(4) public charity whose mission includes supporting organizations that help build, maintain, and transform community among low-income seniors and other vulnerable populations.

Why: In this time of the Covid-19 crisis, finding ways to stay connected is more important than ever, especially among low-income seniors.

What: The “Holding Senior Community” grants will be awarded to nonprofit organizations that are developing and implementing impactful ways of holding and transforming community among seniors during Covid-19. ISCA will select three nonprofit organizations and distribute up to $60,000 in grants among them. The grants may be renewed for up to three years.

Eligibility: Applicants must be 501(c)(3) corporations, or have a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor, and must be operating within San Francisco.

Apply: Applicants should submit an essay of no more than 1,200 words about how your organization is holding and transforming community among low-income seniors during Covid-19, with attention to a description of the community and the anticipated impact. Applicants also should submit (1) evidence of 501(c)(3) status, and (2) financial statements (balance sheet, income statement & budget) for the organization and for the program. Applicants are welcome to submit other documents they believe will amplify their presentation — but brevity is recommended, and the emphasis should be on substance, not length.

How: Applicants should submit their documents (preferably in pdf form) to the following email address: info@iscainsf.org Questions? Feel free to contact Tim Cahn at trcahn@gmail.com.

When: Applications will be accepted until 5:00 p.m., August 31, 2020 and will be acknowledged by email. ISCA expects to make and report its decisions by September 15, 2020.
